Spotlight on Values - Meet the Winners
 
 Thank you for your nominations! Please keep nominating employees, physicians and volunteers who you feel are a great example of our values. Each month we take the nominations received and a nomination committee selects one person for each of the values.
 Meet the Monthly Spotlight Winners:
  
 
 The winner for COMPASSION is:  Loni Strempke.
 "Loni Strempke of Sumner, home & community health, was recognized for the value of compassion. Nominated for her dedication to clients, Loni takes the time to listen and makes each person she speaks to feel appreciated."
 
 The winner for ENTHUSIASM is:  Jolene Ball.
 "Doug Karsjens of Cedar Falls, laboratory, was recognized for the value of innovation. Nominated for his ability to problem solve, Doug brings many innovative solutions to the lab. His uses his abilities to assist his team and make the Waverly Health Center lab run smoothly. "
 
 The winner for EXCELLENCE is:  Linda Card.
 "Linda Card of Waverly, environmental services, was recognized for the value of excellence. Nominated for her commitment to quality, Linda sets a great example for her coworkers. She goes above and beyond to ensure that everything is done right."
 
 The winner for INNOVATION is:  Doug Karsjens.
 "Doug Karsjens of Cedar Falls, laboratory, was recognized for the value of innovation. Nominated for his ability to problem solve, Doug brings many innovative solutions to the lab. His uses his abilities to assist his team and make the Waverly Health Center lab run smoothly."
 
 The winner for INTEGRITY is:  Tony Wygle.
 "Tony Wygle of New Hampton, plant services, was recognized for the value of integrity. Nominated for his persistence in working with vendors, his hard work leads to cost savings at WHC. Tony is honest and always follows through with each request he receives."
  

 Meet the Physican Spotlight of the Quarter:
  Dr. Kerrie Bossard - Third Quarter 2008
WAVERLY, Iowa - Dr. Kerrie Bossard, general surgery clinic, has received Waverly Health Center’s (WHC) medical staff Spotlight on Values award. Nominated by several WHC staff members for her dedication to patients and caring attitude, Dr. Bossard is an example of WHC’s values in action.

Dr. Bossard is recognized at WHC for outstanding patient care. "Dr. Bossard goes out of her way to tend to patient needs," stated one nominator. "She does not question special requests and does what is the best for the patient."

Dr. Bossard’s enthusiasm is also recognized by her co-workers. "Dr. Bossard always has a smile and cheerful greeting when you meet her. I appreciate her friendliness and teamwork," added another nominator.

Dr. Bossard specializes in general surgery. She received her undergraduate degree from Luther College and her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

Waverly Health Center has adopted five values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation and integrity. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes Waverly Health Center employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted on-line at www.WaverlyHealthCenter.org/spotlight.asp or at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
